Days since we started our journey as ONE: 5
So, I know we’ve only been married for 5 days, but I LOVE being Ryan’s wife!! ❤ Everything felt like such a whirlwind this past weekend with the wedding…but at the same time it didn't feel like it flew by. Every tiny prayer we prayed God answered for us. We had amazing weather, no drama, most of the people we loved were there and it all went so smooth. Everything went so perfect and there are only minor things that I think I would change. We're so overwhelmed by all of the love, support and hard work we received from everyone in putting everything together and in the gifts we received (and we haven't opened the majority of them!!)
People warned us that "nothing changes" after you get married and that it's just a piece of paper. I beg to differ. Marriage is two people becoming one and it's a union before God. I already feel so much closer and bonded to Ryan. It's so hard to describe it in words, but I truly feel "one" with him. It's a feeling of being safe. Knowing that no matter what, we will always be ONE in God's eyes is a pretty powerful feeling. I think I actually love him even more and I never thought that was possible. Just goes to show how much God blesses you when you do things the right way. I get so giddy with all of these exciting happenings that I can't even picture when we expand our family in a few years. I'm so happy to be on this journey with my best friend with God in the driver's seat. 🙂
This week was spent doing a lot of the running around putting our marriage license through and getting my name changed as well processing everything on post. I had heard some horror stories from a few wives that recently got married, but everything was accomplished in a few short hours. We had my DEERS record updated (from being my Dad's dependent then a contractor), got my ID card (with my NEW name even though we were told we couldn't), got enrolled in Tricare and Dental and got our information straight with Finance. Ft. Bragg actually makes it all pretty simple if you show up with the right documentation, a good attitude, and a little bit of time.
Tomorrow morning we head off on our 11 day honeymoon to IRELAND!!!!! We are so anxious and now we can relax even more knowing that all of that other stuff is taken care of. I can't wait to see the sights, celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and just relax with my husband and the most important person in my life!! We are so blessed and I can't wait to leave our life here behind and have him all to myself for a little bit.
