Phew! Busy time in the Grim household!!
First things first: Today is our 1 Month Anniversary!!!! Our Honeymoon in Ireland was amazingly perfect!! We spent 11 days/10 nights enjoying St. Patty’s day and seeing all the sights around the mid/southern portion of the island. We were able to kiss the Blarney Stone (and were given the gift of gab) and visited the Cliffs of Moher as well as a few castles and the Ring of Kerry. The people were amazing, the country is beautiful, and we can’t say enough about it. If you haven’t been, add it to your bucket list!! Although, my company that I traveled with was pretty awesome!! ❤ We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon.
I finally got all of our thank you cards in the mail for our gifts and to our special vendors. 🙂 I hope we didn't miss anyone! We were so spoiled and humbled by all of the many gifts/cards that we received for our wedding. We have some of the greatest friends and family members in our lives and can't be thankful enough!
As soon as we got back to the States, Ryan's official orders for training and our PCS officially dropped so he had to hit the ground running. The last 2 weeks have been spent trying to out process him from Bragg, setting up our move, and trying to arrange housing down at HAAF in Georgia. We spent this weekend saying our "See ya laters" to all of our local family and friends. It's always so hard to move on from a chapter in your life and not be close by to the people that you love anymore. It's kind of crazy that Ryan will no longer be a part of the 82nd Airborne, but it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Today I finally get to pin on Ryan's E5/Sergeant rank that he so deserves!! Ryan made E5 in 2 years, 9 months which is super fast!!! The only other person I know of that made it that fast is my Daddy and that’s a great man to model after. 🙂 I am so excited and honored that he wanted me, of all people to do the honors. He always puts me first and shows me everyday that I am the most important person in his life. God could not have given me a better husband and I want to always do everything that I can to love him, support him and lift him up in life and his career. I am so very proud of the man that he is and the husband that he is to me. He always does what is best for us and our future and he is such a great soldier. He'll make an even better NCO and the Army is so very lucky to have him as a part of their service!
So, now we leave to head to Ft. Campbell for some training and some much needed visitation with my sister and her family. I haven’t seen them since our wedding and I miss them! I especially can’t wait to snuggle our 15 month old twin niece/nephew!! I’m going to miss seeing my husband everyday but i’m so thankful for a short separation and for the fact that it’s not in a war zone! Plus, I have tons to keep me busy!! Organizing everything for the move/making sure housing is situated, plus I graduate in a few short weeks up in Virginia…and some much needed quality time with friends and family.
I live such a blessed life and i’m trying to not take anything for granted. We’re sad about the goodbyes, but we’re so excited for this next chapter and adventure that we are on!
